Heppy New Year, everybody!

This here is my last drawing of 2010, which is in my opinion, the best year of my life, sealing off the best decade of my life! There's no monetary or physical gain in the world that will ever amount to the joy that pure experience and self-improvement can bring about. This is a little mascot girl I've drawn exactly once before, at the beginning of the year. Decided to draw her again, just for that good "Haha, I DID IT!" feeling. Here's hoping 2010 was as awesome and eye-opening for you all as it was for me, and here's to 2011 following in and exceeding 2010's footsteps! Night, all! And seriously, thank you ALL for being there for me! You have no idea how much of a positive impact all of you have had on me, be you an old face or new!

When fusions happen...

+
=

This is another fusion of player characters from my RPG project so that I may downsize and manage it all a bit better.

Yeehaw, 25th post!

Candidates for 16...

I should have known this wasn't going to be over... it's NEVER over >_<. I have 15 characters on the crew, though the original limit was going to be 16. I WILL have 16. The design will not be compromised. DESTROY. DESTR-, uhh, anyhow...here is a candidate. More shall follow. Those with higher reception will get NPC or sequel status, and those with a lower reception get the BLAGOLE.

 The first candidate!

Before and after...another tale of indecisiveness and eventual fixing of a design problem!

Aye, as you may have seen from an older post, a character who has been in the design document for about a year now got fused into a creepy vanguard-ish looking girl with a laughing demon on her medical skirt. So yes, today, we mourn the passing of Renatta Tescadero.

 RIP 2010

Or do we? I got a spark of "Who cares?" and drew her again, with some differences. Yeah, after nearly losing a character design I liked quite a bit, ANOTHER character in the lineup got out of line and got destroyed. Yes, after pages and pages of background writing on characters, one of them stood out as so underwhelming that she ran into the Knife after dark. Will she be in the sequel? Will she be an NPC? Who knows, and furthermore, who cares? The character that met the Knife is... Malinda! Battle-wise she is outclassed by everyone and she brings diddley shit new to the table. So... in memoriam, here is Malinda. Wave to the crowd Malinda, exit stage right.
 Let 'er ROT - 2010

Fuck it, if two redesigns don't save the idea, and the character is useless, what's the point of keeping them? If she's lucky, she will be with the cast of Shattered Fates 2. But then again, this girl is a water elemental, and the main character of SF2 is going to be an ice elemental. At this point, you're probably wondering, "Hey Baroquemoon, you said you drew Renatta again! How does that look?" See for yourself!

My own shortcomings with drawing hands poorly or not at all because I hat drawing horribly incomplete or strange looking hands notwithstanding, I think this design works for a redesign. How about you?

My mantra!

I heard this tune in a dream once...just before waking up. I rushed to my computer to try and recall the beat, but for some reason I almost forgot the song for the entire day... just before sleeping, I remembered it again and reconstructed it in Famitracker. Then I went on FLSTudio and made a more techno version of it, and for this blog, I slowed it down a bit. The stinger? In the dream, this was played on a really dainty sounding harpsichord. The deal with this song is that I hear it many dreams now, and whenever I feel like... ANYTHING, just listening to this will unscrew any hell I am going through. Maybe it'll do the same for any of you, or maybe it'll just be a big what the hell moment. Either way, enjoy!

A bit of a fusion

Yeah, I dunno, but because I didn't wanna drop a character design, I fused it with another.
+=

... I dunno what I was thinking.

Aye!

Stay tuned folks, dunno what or when the next part of my blog is gonna be, but riiiiiiiiight now I'm in the middle of a pretty damn fun decision phase. I'm also going on a bit of a break to forge my artistic style in the flames of brazen ambition and cool it off in the lake of boundless imagination. Until then, here's something to tide you all over! You guessed it, it's a smiley face written in my own blood! Thank goodness I got a picture of it while it was still fresh, it's all brown and oxidized now >_<. But hey, I'm one of few artists that had an unfortunate accident which shed enough blood that I could sign my name and a smiley face in my sketchbook with! Ciao!

Color ideas for Xeriaxio...

This makes it easier to interrogate folks on which looks the best. MueHA!

Aye, added another one in per Trevor's suggestion.

New Vegas, Old Problems.

HAHA! According to Google, I should indeed be the first person to use this tagline in regards to Fallout: New Vegas! I haven't got my CE yet, but I'm anticipating one hell of a game that may very well dethrone my current favorite WRPG, Fallout 3! GLORY HOG, HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Another Story

Two candidates for the number 16 slot! Which looks best, eh? And if they both get some positive reception, well, things can be arranged. **gently pats the pipe-wrench**

And here we have...

This is it, folks! Months of getting character design ideas down has finally got to the point where I can now seal the deal! Eight out of the 12 characters made it to the lightning round in order to be playable characters in my RPG project, whereas the other four save for one were sent off to the NPC factory, while one got derailed and sent to the incinerator. I present to you now eight character designs. For me to better approximate this, choose which four out of eight appeal to you most. Yes, I'm asking for about half of the designs that appeal to you... but that's all so that I can get a rather good or solid reading. If you can't give four, give less. Well, thanks for your help once again people! I couldn't have got THIS far without you all! Oh, and there is no gender ratio or anything to keep in balance here. Choose four and that's all that matters : ) !

NOTE: This doesn't seem to zoom too well here in my browser, so for you folks out there having a hard time visualizing, download the pic real fast and then zoom it to a comfortable level!

Evil plot a-brewin'

Yes. A project thought closed and finished has reappeared like a dark gate. I shall venture into the dark gate, screw around a bit, and when I return I shall ask for some more input. Stay tuned, folks!

And here we have...

A mockup!

Xeriaxio Poster

Yeah, this is Xeriaxio's wanted poster. This was actually when I nixxed a character design and didn't even have a name for what I drew... later I just called her Xeriaxio.

The original Wanted Poster

This was drawn referencing a silly picture of myself, but hey, it went on to inspire me to make a full cast for my RPG project! And to think I was going to scrap the whole game idea before I got to this point : D

Robot

This is a robot I drew up with the blasted tablet, just to further infuriate myself. But I guess it also gets the point across of style!

Rendering a little ocean room in Maya.

Taking a small tangent from following the e-book, I decided to animate a small grey untextured box float around on a rectangular area textured with Maya's Ocean Shader. Exporting the video was an interesting experience unto itself, but nonetheless it's done! It's one small step to becoming a better 3D modeler!

First media post!

This is a song I made for a cheap indy game project I am ever so slowly working on. It's a tribute to the game Lollipops, which I guess you can say is my favorite game from the infamous "Action 52" compilation cartridge.
It's a really basic remix, and I didn't try to make the song "My Own" or anything. But there we have it. My first somewhat serious post.
